I believe you can’t beat a good creative brain storm and a giggle to get those ideas flowing. Collaborating with other creatives is where the magic happens.

Skills

I like to keep up to date with new skills. Embracing the ‘ooo’ moments when a new skillset is discovered, learnt and put into practise. I also love to share the ooo’s.

“I’ve had the privilege to work on a variety of design disciplines throughout my design career; branding, packaging, book design, magazines, annual reports, web design, large format display, presentations and animations. Working in both private and public sector roles, collaborating with clients, colleagues and talented creatives, I’ve established a reputation for bringing a design plan to the table for every project and every budget.”

Creative Design

I like to keep things clear and simple by cutting out the fluff. I strive to reach design solutions that work effortlessly.

Created with a strong rationale built from experience, curiosity and research.

Recognition

My creative work has picked up a few awards over the years, particularly for print and publications. The real recognition, for me, comes from receiving fantastic testimonials from satisfied clients who’ve experienced great outcomes from partnering with me..

My Values

Commitment, generosity and kindness alongside experience and skills, are the values that underpin my partnership with client’s. I also get that busy marketing and communication teams need clear creative solutions delivered on time and within budget.

A beautiful presentation – it’s so well developed and better than a lot of similar work from agencies. The inspiration slides make the link between nature and the mathematical patterns…and explain how the wellbeing and environment route was chosen. The design section is really lovely and the logo works well across the different assets – love the signage etc. Colour palette is also good. A really lovely piece of work and I hope the next stage goes well.

Cate established our website and the look and feel of all our resources, quick guides and toolkits. She has been a patient, generous, and quietly inspiring friend of the LTA from its very beginning. Cate worked tirelessly to produce all our resources to a hugely tight schedule prior to the launch of the LTA.

Cate has designed at speed all our Supporting Student Learning Online (SSLO) Toolkit and Responsive Blended Learning (RBL) guides. Her talent brings our words and ideas life. They ensure colleagues across the University and beyond can access ideas in ways that will inspire them to engage and act on the suggestions.

The award is richly deserved for both the technical and pedagogic support offered to our community, but also for the way in which it was offered. Collegiality, teamworking and partnership have been defining features of Heriot-Watt’s work during 2020. This Award recognises that, and is a real cause for celebration at the end of an extraordinary year.
Thanks for all you have done, and continue to do, to support and enhance learning and teaching across our global University. It is greatly appreciated.

The building design is a triumph within significant constraints, in no small part because of the branding. Your design commitment and creativity on this project has far exceeded that of any previous external design consultants employed by the Project Team.
Please accept the thanks of the Project Team for an outstanding contribution on your part. We look forward to working with you on the next project.

These are absolutely amazing!! I love your design and colour palette - thank you so much for your brilliant work! They are so fun and it really captures the range and energy of the Trail content. The overlaps and fusion of the designs are just lovely and really flattering to the eye.

Working with Cate was an absolute pleasure. From the outset, she understood the brief and translated it into a stunning design that perfectly captured our vision. She was highly professional, responsive, and collaborative, making the entire process seamless and enjoyable.
Cate not only met our deadlines but delivered ahead of schedule, exceeding our expectations with her creativity and attention to detail.

Her ability to bring ideas to life with such clarity and precision made all the difference. We couldn’t be happier with the final result and look forward to working with her again in the future.
